The Playhouse Theatre, Preston

Great amateur theatre, right in the heart of Preston

An Operetta in two acts, by W.S.Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan

8th to 11th March 2017

First performed in London, in 1885, The Mikado was an instant success, and enjoyed an initial run of 672 performances.

It has remained ever since the most popular of all the Savoy Operas.

Despite its Japanese setting, the butts of its satire are, of course, all very English.

Preston Gilbert & Sullivan Society is a dedicated company of singers presenting The Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas in the Preston area.
